Lest We Forget

"The 5th BN Honors"

As a unit, we strive to preserve the memory of the Australian fighting man of the Great War. Everything we do, and especially the image we present to the public must have that in mind. The Australian people have gone to great lengths to honor the service of her Great War Veterans. Gallipoli, France and Belgium abound with war memorials (two new ones were dedicated in 1998 alone), and the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission honors the 63,163 Australian who died in the Great War.

Most of us will never get to travel to Turkey or Europe to visit these sites, so here we present a small sampling of the Australian monuments.
